April 22, 2015

Station 53 was dispatched to two calls on opposite sides of Lower Nazareth Township within 30 minutes of each other on Tuesday evening. The first incident was a MVA on Dryland Way. 5353 (A/C Hinkel) had command at the incident which was initially dispatched as an accident with injuries. After assessing the scene with EMS 17, Command ordered 5341's crew (LT Hinkel) to remove the driver's side door from one of the vehicles to allow for patient extrication. Fire Police from Station 53 handled traffic control and scene safety. 2 patients were transported to local hospitals by EMS 17.

While wrapping up the scene on Dryland Way, Fire 53 and Fire 14 (Nancy Run) for Tower 1421, were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Fairway Rd in Lower Nazareth. 5341 made the response from Drylandway and 5311 responded from station. 5352 (A/C) Boucher established command and quickly located and extinguished a small fire in the living room of the home. Fire 53 units provided overhaul and ventilation.
