Steuben Road Chimney Fire

On Saturday March 1, 2014 at 08:45, the HVFCo. and Nancy Run Station 14 were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire at 4490 Steuben Road. The caller reported a problem with a pellet stove and a possible fire in the chimney. 5351 responded to the scene and found smoke showing from a wall vent. Engine 5311 arrived on scene and the crew entered the dwelling to investigate. The crew found a fire in the pellet stove with extension to a partially blocked vent pipe. Tower 1421 was directed to set up and investigate the chimney for possible extension. Rescue 5341 and Traffic 5349 arrived on scene and assisted with investigation, overhaul, and traffic control. The fire was contained to the stove and vent system with no extension to the dwelling.
