The Hecktown Vol. Fire Company participated in fire prevention activities at two local day care facilities in the township. The firefighters talked about fire safety and gave tours of Engine 5311. The 2-4 year old kids had many questions and were amazed by the size and cleanliness of the truck. Many of the kids exclaimed how they also wanted to be firefighters when they grow up. The crew of 5311 answered dozens of "what's that" question to over 150 young kids. In the end, all of the kids were given a fire helmet and made honorary firefighters for the day. Many thanks to the staff of the day cares and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
