Midday Dwelling Fire in Lower Nazareth

At approximately 1300 Fire 53 along with Tower 1421 (Nancy Run) were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Timothy Avenue in Lower Nazareth Township. Reports from the PD and multiple callers reported a well-involved dwelling with heavy fire showing from the rear of the house. 5351 (Chief Seip) arrived on scene and found the rear of the house fully involved with flames breaking through the roof of the 2 story single-family home. The 2 occupants that were home at the time had evacuated prior to fire personnel arriving. 5311 (Capt. Cortright) arrived on scene and placed the elevated master stream in service and one handline was stretched to the rear of the house. 5331 (AC Hinkel) arrived and laid a supply line for 5311 then supplied Tower 1421 until a second line was laid for their water supply. Engine 5312 (AC Brooks) arrived on scene and their crew joined the crew from 5311. After master streams knocked down the bulk of the fire, crews from multiple agencies entered the home to extinguish the remaining fire. Crews from stations 27 (Palmer Municipal), 50 (Vigilance Hose of Nazareth), 54 (Upper Nazareth Township), 17 (Bethlehem Township fire and EMS), and Colonial Regional Police Department assisted at the scene. Fire 46 (East Allen Township) moved up to fire 53 to provide coverage for Lower Nazareth Township during the incident. There were no injuries to first responders or civilians. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
