| The HFCo.#1 spent the weekend of September 6 and 7 at the Walmart store on Route 248 in Lower Nazareth raising funds and spreading the message of fire safety. Even with heavy rain on Saturday thanks to remnants of hurricane Hanna, crews staffed the Coke wagon, public relations tent and both entrances to the store. Crews returned on Sunday to continue their efforts and enjoyed much better weather. We had the privilege of meeting many families from throughout the area and spent time talking with them about home fire safety. As usual, the apparatus was the biggest hit with the kids and we received a great deal of positive feedback from children and parents alike. The members of the HFCo. would like to extend our thanks to everyone who stopped by to talk to us and support our fundraising effort. We would also like to thank the Walmart staff for all of their assistance over the course of the weekend. We look forward to continuing our efforts during October as we visit our local school and day care centers for Fire Prevention Week. We will also be hosting an open house at our fire station on Route 191 on October 11, 2008 from 12:00-3:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to stop by and tour the station, visit the fire safety trailer, check-out the apparatus, and enjoy some refreshments. |
