On Tuesday, July 1 2008, the HFCo. #1 participated in the annual Lower Nazareth Township park program "Hero Day". Rescue 5341 was on display and about 65 children received a tour of our newest piece of apparatus. Hecktown EMS was on hand with both of their units as well as CRPD Officer Wendling and his K-9 partner Rex. The children traveled to the different areas to learn about the function of each of the emergency services. The highlight of the day was the arrival of the medical helicopter; PennStar 5. The children got a tour of the aircraft and had all of their questions answered by the flight crew. The members of the HVFCo. would like to thank Lower Nazareth Township for the invitation to get our safety message out to the children, and we look forward to returning next year for another "Hero Day".
