The HFCo.#1 was alerted at 11:17 hrs for a vehicle fire on Route 33 northbound at milemarker 5.5. 1459 (Nancy Run Safety Officer Andress) updated Northampton County 911 of the fire and reported an engine compartment fire. 1459 also advised that PSP Belfast had northbound 33 shut down to all traffic. Engine/Rescue 5312 responded under the direction of 5355 (Fire Captain Novak) with staffing of 6. 5312 arrived on scene, 5355 confirmed the dispatch, updates, and established 53 Command. The crew stretched an 1 3/4" hoseline to the vehicle and forced the hood. Within minutes, 53 Command advised NC911 that the fire was under control and the highway was reopened.
